AMBER OSBORNE

ATTORNEY AND VETERANS DISABILITY PRACTICE MANAGER

Intro: Amber has been a part of the Wettermark Keith law firm since 2010 and currently serves as an Attorney and our Veterans Disability Practice Manager. She is accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to represent veterans in claims and appeals for service-connected disability benefits. In 2014, Amber took on the firm’s very first VA Disability case—and won. That success marked the beginning of a new chapter for the firm, and for Amber. She has since focused on growing the practice, helping veterans navigate the complex appeals process with dedication and compassion. By February 2022, the VA practice had grown significantly, and Amber transitioned to managing it full-time. She remains involved in every case from start to finish.

Background: Amber’s path to becoming an attorney was anything but conventional—marked by hard work, night classes, and a clear sense of purpose. After graduating from the University of Alabama with a degree in English and a minor in General Business, she began working at the Social Security Administration as a claims representative. It was there she got a firsthand look at the obstacles facing people with disabilities—and realized that real change would only come by standing on the other side of the table, as their advocate.

In August 2010, Amber joined Wettermark Keith as a Social Security Disability case manager. Determined to make a greater impact, she enrolled in law school at the Birmingham School of Law, attending evening classes while continuing her work at the firm. Most of her legal education was spent immersed in casework—listening to clients, building files, and learning what it truly means to fight for someone. She graduated in May 2012, passed the bar exam that summer, and officially became an attorney in September of that year.

Amber’s “Why”: Amber is familiar with the frustration, confusion and angst that arises from dealing with government agencies, especially when it comes to claims for certain benefits. Amber finds helping to ease some of that burden one of the most rewarding aspects of her job. What Amber enjoys the most is having the opportunity to benefit people who are struggling. She loves seeing the positive impact in her clients' lives. She takes pride in helping those who have served our country and striving to grant what is owed to them for sacrifices they have made. She truly believes she has found her calling.
